Bulgaria has developed within short time from a communist regime to an entry candidate of he European Union. Since the economic downturn in 1996 which led to the fall of the socialist government at that time, Bulgaria can show macroeconomic stability and high growth rates.
As a result, the government became committed above all to the economic reforms and responsible finance planning. At the end of 2001 the fight of the government against poverty and unemployment was supported by an agreement with the IWF (International monetary funds), in addition, with 300 $ Mil.
